1,400 Cheaters caught red-handed.

November 19th, 2007 by Amy

A few days ago, members of the DOFUS team in charge of monitoring our servers spotted a player distributing a “bot” which was supposed to help you progress faster in DOFUS.

But this was not a “bot” but a “keylogger” which had only one purpose: steal the login details of the persons who were naïve enough to use it. Not only did we ban the author of this program, close all related accounts, but we also imposed a sanction onto the 1,400 victims as they’re almost as responsible as the offender.

Even if our engineers quickly intervened, we strongly advise the 1,400 concerned persons not to contact our support for their loss of items or characters shortly after they used such program. Our support will certainly not appreciate complaints of persons who are unable to comply with the game rules, which we never stopped repeating.

Do not use cheat programs! Not only will you be banned for this but you’ll also probably reveal your login details to a person even more malicious than you are. Remember that a cheater is already half a thief!

Finally, help us fight against cheaters and swindlers by reporting to our online support anything strange you notice in-game.
