When patching I get this error message: Query Info failed (12150)?

This usually happens on computers running Win95 and MS Internet Explorer 3.X or older. We suggest that you upgrade your Explorer browser to 4.X or newer.

I get ‘Error connecting to server. The dimension file does not correctly reflect.’ error message when logging in for the first time. What do I do?

Click ok and click login again. This will solve the problem.

I get a ‘files missing or corrupted’ error message when patching. What should I do?

First try to download: ftp://download.anarchy-online.com/patches/aorepair.exe

Place the aorepair.exe file in your Anarchy Online directory, run it, and choose “ok”. This tool should be able to fix any corrupted files problems on your Anarchy Online installation.

If this doesn’t work, another solution is first un-install, delete the Anarchy Online directory, and then to re-install the game, download the executable patches and run them on your computer. This will take you some time.

How does the AO-team put a patch together? How do you decide what should be in the next patch?

When a patch is put together we consider both the solved bugs, the importance of the fixes and enhancements from all team-members. Then we try to put together a list of fixes and enhancements from the finished list that will make the downtime and download feel worth it for most of the players.

What is a patch?

To add new content or to fix bugs that may occur we use what is called a patch. A patch is basically a whole lot of code that is added to the existing Anarchy Online file on your computer. This code “patches” the game by either adding things or fixing things. If a new patch is available, it will automatically be downloaded when you next start Anarchy Online.
