Cape Guide

Within RuneScape there are many capes available. Some people may think to wear them purely for how they look with what other armours they choose to wear but when it comes down to it, the stat boosts that certain capes give to certain aspects may win or lose a fight.
Normal Capes
Normal capes can be obtained from monster drops (such as highwaymen) or bought in clothing shops like the one in Varrock. One of the good things about the basic capes is if you do not like the colour of it, it is fairly easy and straightforward to change.
To change the colour of a cape, you can use dyes on it. To learn more about dyes, see the Crafting - Extra Features page.
Please note: These capes are not animated in game, the animation simply shows the colours of the cape that are available.

Fremennik Cloaks (members only)
Those who have completed the Fremennik Trials will be able to trade and buy Fremennik clothing items from the shop in Relleka.
Providing the same stats as normal capes, you may want to choose these if you want a different style or to choose from the even more colours made available.
Please note: These capes are not animated in game, the animation simply shows the colours of the cape that are available.

Wilderness Capes (members only)
To aid you in combat, you can purchase many different types of Wilderness capes. These enterprising merchants are located throughout the Wilderness selling special team capes.
All Wilderness Capes cost 50gp and when worn will make anyone else wearing the same cape appear as blue dots on the mini-map, everyone else will appear as white dots. This is not effective on any friends on your friends list appearing green on your mini-map. If they too are wearing the same Wilderness cape, they will continue to appear as a green dot.

The second advantage of these capes are, those players with the same cape will have their attack option moved onto the right-click menu, while everyone else’s attack option will be left-click. This will stop you accidentally clicking on your friends and attacking. However, this won’t stop you attacking them if you wish, it will simply place your attack option ON the right click menu.
The Following map shows the locations where the Cape sellers are known to wander. Please be aware if you do not find them in the location on the map, they may have walked a little further astray. The map also shows what seller sells what cape numbers. For what the capes look like, please consult the table below the map.

Hunters’ Capes
Made from the finest lightweight kebbit fur, these capes have the ability of lessening the weight of its owner, allowing them to recover their lost energy at a faster rate.
