The eldest of the children of Elrond of Rivendell, the twins Elladan and Elrohir were born 130 years after Isildur cut the One Ring from the hand of Sauron. They are so alike in appearance and demeanor that they are nearly impossible to tell apart. Outwardly, they are not as grim and hardened as the Rangers of the North, but within burns a terrible rage.

Long ago, their mother Celebrían, daughter of Galadriel, was captured by orcs as she journeyed from Lothlórien to Rivendell. Elladan and Elrohir rescued her, but not before she had been cruelly tortured and poisoned by the orcs. Their father, Elrond, was able to heal Celebrían of her wounds and of the poison, but Middle-earth no longer held any beauty for her, and she sailed into the West. Elladan and Elrohir swore vengeance upon all of orc-kind.

The sons of Elrond make an appearance in The Lord of the Rings Online^TM: Shadows of Angmar^TM as they help to clear the way for the Company of the Ring to begin their fateful journey from Rivendell to Mordor. Players will aid them in their mission, driving the shadow of evil out of the Trollshaws.
