Freeport Guide

The City of Lucan D’Lere. Welcome to Freeport, scum.

Depending on your race you will start out in one of the following areas on the dock.

  • Beggar’s Court - Human and Half Elf
  • Big Bend - Ogre and Troll
  • Longshadow - Dark Elf
  • Scale Yard - Barbarian, Iskar
  • Stonestair - Erudites and Kerra
  • Temple Street - Gnomes and Ratonga

There are also nine other main zones.

Dungeon Zones

All of these zones have materials that crafters need in them. Anyone can gather for crafters. You might also find items needed for Collection quests and lore items in these areas.

  • The Graveyard
  • The Ruins
  • The Sprawl
  • The Sunken City
  • The Thieves’ Way

Freeport City Zones

You will not be allowed to travel to the main areas of Freeport until you have finished the ‘Welcome to Freeport” and ‘Obtain Citizen’ Quest.

  • North Freeport
  • South Freeport
  • East Freeport
  • West Freeport

There are two main ways to travel between zones.

  1. Go to the docks and use the Mariner Bell
  2. The zone gate or doorway

The Mariner Bells can take you to destinations outside of Freeport or to ones inside of Freeport. They are easy to use. Simply right click them and select your destination. The Dungeon zones may have more then instanced version available. Just pick (for example) either Sunken City 3 or Sunken City 4 depending on what you want. The Mariner Bells can take you to another version of the instanced zone you are in also. So if you are in The Ruins 3 you can take the bells to The Ruins 2 zone if it is available.

In most of the zones there are crafting zones, along with rooms at inn, taverns for beer and rations, scribes, armor menders and other merchants in all of the areas. The Dungeon zones mainly have some merchants and other NPC’s in them. If after you have died several times all of your equiptment falls off (into your inventory) you better go see a mendor.

Finding Your Way Around Freeport

There is a Map you can bring up using the ‘M’ key. Maps can show you World View, City Map and Current Zone.
The Current zone view will show you the Gates of out the zone, Banks, Armorers, Scribes, and other areas of interest. You will also have the ‘you are here’ dot so you can avoid getting lost. If you press the icon of the area you wish to go to a Waypoint trail should show up.

Waypoints can be used to help you find areas like the Bank, Mariner Bell and other important areas. You can bring up the Waypoints by clicking the button and selecting Waypoints then simple choose which one waypoint you need. A golden trail of light will show you the way to your destination. Waypoints can also be used to find and recover your shard.

One of the reasons it is important to explore is you gain experience for finding new areas. Such as the The Fountain of Divine Retribution in Beggers’ Court.

Please be aware the crafting areas I mention look like celler doors in the ground. They are not a normal door.

No matter which of the areas you start in the ‘Welcome to Freeport’ quests and ‘Obtain Citzenship’ quests are pretty much the same.

First Time In The City

The first person you should speak to is the Overseer.

He will give you a the welcome to Freeport that you deserve. At this time you get the quest “Welcome to Freeport” you are directed to go to the inn and take possesion of your room there. A waypoint trail will show up to guide you to your room. Follow it to the inn. When you get to the inn you can take possesion of your room. The charge is 5 silver a week but you are not required to pay untill after the first week. Get your room, go inside and talk to the Slumlord who is in your room. You will be given some tasks to accomplish which will help teach you how to move furniture and find your way around the area. This quest leads directly into the Obtain Citizenship Quest which you must complete to go to the main areas of Freeport.
