Dear Maplers,

We have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is the patch will be delayed until the same time on Monday, January 23rd. We are sincerely sorry for this inconvenience. We know many of you were patiently waiting to explore this patch over the weekend.

The good news is the source of the delay. We are having issues implementing Akamai for our downloads. To better serve the MapleStory community, we will be providing the majority of our downloads and patches using Akamai’s screaming fast service.  Akamai is the global content delivery leader and powers the businesses of companies like Apple, MTV Networks, IBM, etc. During our test, we found Akamai improved download speeds by an average of 80-90%. These improvements will vary by geographic location, but we are sure most of you will experience significant improvements.

We did not publicly announce the Akamai upgrade in our patch notice to surprise our players with the performance of the patch. Again, sincerely sorry for the delay… we are trying our best to bring you the best entertainment service online and hope you can lend us your understanding during this delay.
