Those willing to unravel the Rune Mysteries will gain access to a valuable mine, which allows miners the chance to stock up on a material which can later be turned into runes of incredible power by using the Runecrafting skill.

Rune essence can only be mined from one location – the Rune Essence mine. The only way to access this is to be teleported to the mine by one of the following characters:

All of the NPCs above teleport you to the same rune essence mine, but only if you have completed the Rune Mysteries quest.

As soon as you are teleported to the Rune Essence mine, head to a pillar of gray stone with magic swirling around it. Use a pickaxe on the rune essence and mine until your inventory is full.

Just as entering the mine can only be achieved by magic, the only way to leave is through the use of a portal. When you are ready to leave, click on the nearest portal and you will be teleported back to the location from which you entered the mine.
