Monkeyman’s Guide to keeping RuneScape Fun
I’ve seen a lot of good honest players leave over the years because of the loss of interest and the seemingly lacking community. I figured everyone could benefit by advice of this kind, so hear me out, and you may even remember what attracted you to Runescape in the first place! Here is a list of common reasons people leave RuneScape, and ways to fix/deal with these problems.

Dropping Grades
Many people think that RuneScape is becoming a priority in their life, and their dropping grades are a result. For me it is the exact opposite! Become a fletcher/woodcutter. While you are busy cutting logs or bows have a book open and do homework on study. Record your notes on tape and listen to them if that is what it comes down to! You wouldn’t imagine how much better you start doing if you use those couple minutes while your cutting those magic trees to study. Most people who see a depreciation in grades spend multiple hours a day. Imagine if you spent those hours a day studying. But instead of plain studying, you are making it fun, interesting, and motivating. You can raise your grades and those stats too.

Repetativenes
While a halbred hallies, cut logs, fletch logs, or whatever else I see myself doing, I almost always am browsing forums/other internet sites, listening to music, and either pming or IMing my friends. This way I never get bored. Honestly staring at a screen repetitavely clicking is boring. That’s why I make it seems like plain IMing with a MMORPG stuck in the back as a little extra bonus. My friends and I compete for stats, and together keep the game fun. That’s what it’s all about right? Also a while ago some friends and I did a KBD run. I usually don’t go, but I really enjoyed myself. It was fun to get away from all the people and just watch as your friends get slaughtered. Just switch up the game. Don’t do the same thing for too long, or you will get bored and lose the run in RuneScape.
Lacking Community (noobish people)
There is an unavoidable lack of maturity on RuneScape. Especially now that RuneScape has become affiliates with MoFunZone, and the all renowned child-haven MiniClip. Honestly, there is not much you can do to stop an occasional ‘OMG you look rich can i have one of those purple necklaces!!!! !*!&#’ or ‘0mg y0u r 1337 g1v m3 stuf!’. Basically I try and do is ignore them if I’m busy, or simply offer them a suggestion to get money and walk away. I don’t want to give away money or items to a person who is likely to quit the next day. Don’t let them get to you, and spend as much time as you can away from Varrock (to say the least). To sum it up, you can’t get rid of them, but you can avoid them, and only associate with friends with truly like.
