Now is the time to make a character’s Race actually matter

You are level 70.
Take off all your equipment…go ahead, do it.
What do you see?
Absolutely nothing of consequence, that’s what.
As you level your character’s beginning stat’s become less and less important to your class. Once you are at level 70 race and class are completely homoginized.
I believe that the game designers should seriously look into jazzing this up. And I have the perfect way to do this without unbalancing the game and make some racial class mixes seem more interesting.
It’s a simple formula, I’ll start by giving a racial example:
Kerran:
Level 1 Starting Stat’s:
- Strength 22
- Agility 23
- Stamina 20
- Intelligence 15
- Wisdom 20
If you use a base 10 for each stat, then count upward you get the variable needed
- Strength 12
- Agility 13
- Stamina 10
- Intelligence 05
- Wisdom 10
Once you have these numbers make it 1/10th to get your scale:
- Strength 1.2 per level
- Agility 1.3 per level
- Stamina 1.0 per level
- Intelligence 0.5 per level
- Wisdom 1.0 per level
So now, once you have reached level 70 your base stat’s will look like this:
- Strength 22 + 84 = 106
- Agility 23 + 91 = 114
- Stamina 20 + 70 = 90
- Intelligence 15 + 35 = 50
- Wisdom 20 + 70 = 90
You will notice how more emphasis is placed on your major stat’s and less on your weaker starting stat’s and it’s a very slow increase as your character gains levels.
Now at lvl 70 there will be a noticable difference in stat’s from an Erudite Guardian and a Barbarian Guardian.
With the new system I propose at lvl 70 an Erudite will have these stats:
- Strength 12 + 14 = 26
- Agility 18 + 56 = 74
- Stamina 15 + 35 = 50
- Intelligence 30 + 140 = 170
- Wisdom 25 + 105 = 130
Or a Barbarian:
- Strength 25 + 105 = 130
- Agility 20 + 70 = 90
- Stamina 25 + 105 = 130
- Intelligence 12 + 14 = 26
- Wisdom 18 + 56 = 74
If both classes were Guardian Classes the Erudite character would naturally have more powerful proc damage and more magic resists but his HP will be less then a Barbarian. And equipment will not cover up this sorely neglected facit of the game as it does right now.
I would really like to see this implimented possibly on the release of the next expantion or put in place on a LU patch.
So…what say you gaming community?
Do you want a more diverse system in place so you can debate the merits of one racial class over another?
***EDIT***
Just though of something else that will add even more diversity to Racial/Class mix.
It involves those completely unimportant Stat raises you get as you level. Have them added to to the proposed “Level Stat raise” modifier.
Instead of 4 to such-and-such stat have a 0.2 to .4 Added to your racial base modifier.
So if you have a race that adds a 0.2 modifier it now becomes a 0.4 or 0.6.
You can bring a stat that is extreamly weak up to a respectable number or take an already powerful stat and make it even more so.
In addition, implement something similar for the class chosen, like a 0.5 increase to their modifer for the classes main emphasized stat’s.
