Why is it that my protection prayers do not always work against another player?

The protection prayers will always work against monsters. The prayers do work against other players, however it will only reduce 50% of the damage you receive.

My protect item prayer didn’t work. Why is this?

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. Remember that your ‘protect item’ does rely on your prayer points. There are instances where a players prayer points will run out before they die, therefore rendering the prayer useless.

Why can’t I use any prayers in the Abyss?

Upon entering the Abyss, it will drain your Prayer stat to zero.

Is it possible to regain Prayer Points within the Abyss?

Yes you can regain prayer points as normal, simply drink a prayer potion and you will be able to use your prayers again.

Does the Dragon Scimitar special attack affect the Protect Item prayer?

The Dragon Scimitar special attack only affects the Protect Against prayers (Mage, Range and Melee). It has no effect on the Protect Item prayer.

If I use the Dragon Scimitar Special attack to stop a players protect prayers for 5 seconds, does the damage on the special hit count with the player having prayer on or off?

The damage and chance to hit is calculated with the opponent using the protect prayer.

When I recharge my prayer points at an altar or with a potion, my prayer level is the maximum number of prayer points I can have. How can I get extra prayer points?

Here are two places where this is possible:

• The monks’ altar upstairs in the Monastery (talk to Abbot Langley).
• The Nature Shrine in Mort Myre (complete Nature Spirit quest first).

Both will give you 2 extra prayer points.

What’s the best way to increase my prayer level?

Get in the habit of burying every bone you see, regardless of how little xp you will get, it’s still xp!

How does the Prayer statistic work?

In your worn inventory, you will see the prayer stat. If you are using prayer to fight monsters or players, then it will drain through use. The higher the prayer boost is (the number here), the longer your Prayer will last, as it will drain slower. For more information on prayer boosting equipment, see Prayer - Holy Attire and Equipment.
