Ranged - Ranged Armour

Rangers have a wide variety of armour - Leather armour being the most common type. As a rangers skill improves, it is worth seeking out the other types of ranged armour available.

Ranged armour can be crafted using the Crafting Skill or purchased from archery stores in Catherby, Rimmington or Varrock.

Look for the following symbol [image] on your minimap, to locate Archery stores

Snakeskin Armour

Snakeskin armour is members only and is made from snakeskin hide, which can be acquired from the island of Karamja.
Rangers can also purchase them from other players willing to part with it, for the right price.

Snake skin can be aquired by taking part in the Tai Bwo Wannai cleanup or Temple Trekking mini game.

Dagannoth Armour

Those who desire Dagannoth armour must journey to Waterbirth Island, where the Dagannoth monsters dwell. You will have to earn the different pieces from Dagannoth monster drops, after you face these fierce creatures in battle.

As explained in the Fremennik Armour Guide, Dagannoth armour is members only and can not be purchased in stores. You might find some players willing to part with theirs, for the right price.

Dragonhide Armour

Dragon armour provides excellent protection from all types of attacks, and is ideal for rangers. You must have completed the Dragon Slayer Quest to wear the Green Dragonhide Body. To wear other Dragonhide items you must meet the minimum level requirement.

Dragon armour can be crafted from dragon hide, obtained by killing the dragons. You can also obtain blessed dragonhide armour dedicated to Guthix, Saradomin or Zamorak by completing Treasure Trails. Blessed dragonhide armour is equivalent to black dragonhide armour.

Barrows Attire

Karil the Tainted’s Set is one of the possible rewards from The Barrows mini-game. When the complete armour is used with the Karil crossbow, successful ranged attacks have a chance of reducing the target’s agility.

Other Ranging Items

We all like looking unique, rangers are no different. There are rare Ranger Boots and a Robin Hood Hat specifically for rangers. The rare Ranger Boots and Robin Hood Hat are possible rewards at the end of treasure trails. If you do not want to earn them through treasure trails, you could try to buy them from other players, these items are tradable.

The Archer’s ring can be acquired through drops from the larger Dagannoth monsters found in the dungeon on Waterbirth Island.

The archer helm can be purchased from the fremennik in Rellekka after completing The Fremennik Trials.
