Report Gift Fraud
June 27th, 2006 by Eva
As announced before, NX Cash gifting has been disabled and all accounts related to fraudulent gift transactions will be banned permanently. We will offer a lesser ban to those users who report themselves. Please keep in mind that all accounts, reported or not reported alike, will be reviewed thoroughly before being banned.
Who should worry about getting banned?
If you have received an NX Cash gift from a stranger, or traded for NX Cash gifts with someone, your account might be in danger and should report to us. If the sender is a stranger, he/she most probably used fraudulent means to send you the gift.
If the gift sender has sent you an NX Cash gift using fraudulent methods, PayPal will notify us when they detect this fraud. The process might take some time, but NX Games will eventually ban all accounts related to fraudulent purchases.
I got a gift from a stranger and it worked fine.
Although the gift transaction might go through fine initially, PayPal will report to us if the transaction turns out to be fraudulent. Then, after review, we ban all the related accounts—sender and receiver.
Why is NX Games doing this? We just wanted some NX Cash!
When more users purchase NX Cash, it obviously helps NX Games and enables us to provide a better service for our users. We have decided to take out the gift function because too many users were abusing it.
Losing money to frauders isn`t as big a problem as having to ban users who bought NX Cash from them. It seems that many users were eager to get NX Cash and were not being careful of how they got it. We are therefore allowing users to report themselves and try to reduce their bans.
