RF online Unmanned Mining Tools
June 7th, 2007 by rosehebe
The Unmanned Mining Tool, or UMT, is an automated drill that mines for you while you occupy yourself with other tasks such Battle Dungeons, Chip Wars, or just about anything else.
To start your unmanned mining session, you will need the right tools, which are far from cheap when compared to the ordinary mining tools and their respective batteries. Go to the Ore Refiner merchant and click on “Item trade” (a). Then purchase one of the three available UMT types (b). The only difference between the three UMT tools is the durability, outlined below. Because other races can attack and destroy your UMT, the durability acts as your UMT’s hit points. Lastly, you will want to purchase some batteries (c). The UMT has two battery slots, so it is best to buy two batteries.

| UMT Type | Level Requirement | Durability (HP) | Price (based on 10% tax) |
| Battery Type | Charge | Price (based on 10% tax) |
Now that you have all the tools, it’s time to start drilling! Find a mining-enabled area and deploy the UMT by right-clicking it in your inventory. A green border around the icon will mean the UMT is currently deployed. Then, select the ore you wish to mine. When you are ready to start, drag the battery from your inventory into any of the two slots on the UMT control window and it should begin to mine automatically. The green border around the UMT icon in your inventory will now begin flashing to indicate it is actively mining. Your UMT can indeed be attacked by other races, and you will receive a system message informing you when it takes damage.
The ore you mine with your UMT does not go into your inventory, but rather into your UMT box – which consists of 40 slots of room. To access your UMT box, see the Ore Refiner merchant and select “UMT box” from the options. Your UMT box will appear. To collect the ore, simply drag them into your inventory.
