SWG Team Profile - Seth Thomas
June 11th, 2007 by keven

What is your real name? Seth Thomas
What is your official title/position? Build Master, which I have to admit, is a great title, but it leaves a bit to the imagination. I do a bit of everything to be honest. The position is a little IT, a dash of revision control, and anything which falls out of the scope of the other teams. I work closely with QA and manage our test centers along with being the one who puts new builds out onto the servers. There are more than a few other things that go into the position but it is so all over the board that it would not make sense outside of the SWG team.
How long have you been working on SWG? I have been working with the SWG team for three months.
What profession do you like to play in SWG? I like to play a Commando or Bounty Hunter.
Why do you like that profession? To be honest, it is mostly out of habit, but some of it has to do with my tendency towards soloing. Besides the focus on combat, I really like the weapon types that are available to those two professions, but for missions it’s BH all the way.
What is it you like to do while in-game? (PvE, PvP, exploring, etc)? Typically, PvE, but I find myself chatting with players most of the time. Since I have yet to see everything, I spend most of my time just running around and exploring. At this point, I still have not been to every planet nor have I spent much time in space.
Do you solo or play with others, why? I usually end up soloing because of my schedule. I have not done a lot of grouping but that is only because I am not done exploring everything. Since I am still relatively new to the game I want to get familiar with everything first. Nobody likes being the newbie in a group of experienced players.
Other than working on the game, what keeps you playing (or what is your favorite thing about the game)? I was raised on this stuff, it’s second nature and being able to play in the Star Wars universe is something the kid in me always wants to do. I really enjoy seeing the process all the way through from development to release and watching how the game evolves.
