Terminology–Exploit

December 6th, 2006 by Eva

An Exploit is defined as a bug or programming error in the game code that players take advantage of to improve their characters. Exploits can be many different things. For example, the build that allowed people to solo the Underworld was an exploit because it was not made to be soloable. Some exploits can also be server-side, such as people taking advantage of NPC monsters or traders. Regardless of any exploit, all exploits are frowned upon by ANet, even though it is their fault. EXAMPLE: I expolited the Rare Material Trader to get 50 free Obsidian Shards.
