The Path to Necromancer

The Path to Necromancer: You’ve arrived on the shore of the Isle of Refuge, nearby stands a man named Graven Tralk, who will help you start your journey to Necromancer. When you talk to him, he will give you the choice between Fighter, Scout, Priest and Mage. Choosing Mage will give you your first spell, Lightning Burst, which you will use as your primary damage source. Now you’ll want to explore the Isle, gain a few levels, talk to NPC’s and complete some quests.
When you reach Level 6 you’ve gained the maximum amount of levels you can on the Isle of Refuge, but you can continue to gain enough experience to gain level 8, which will store until you’ve completed the necessary requirements. When I gained level 6, I was eager to see Freeport and other areas, so I left the Isle of Refuge at that time. When I have the chance to do it again, I would complete more quests, and cap out experience so that when I get to Freeport I can gain citizenship immediately, and an extra level closer to becoming a Summoner.
When you get to Freeport you may do the Citizenship Quest which you get from a sign hanging near the gates to Freeport from your district, but until you gain citizenship you will be capped at level 7, and not allowed to enter Freeport Proper. At this time I recommend exploring as many of the Freeport districts and talking to as many, if not all of the NPC’s in those areas, many will ask you to do errands and quests for them, which lead to experience, money, and item rewards! This is a great way to get a jump start on learning the city, and advancing your character all at the same time.
In North Freeport lies your next Archetype step. On the steps of the Academy of Arcane Science, you will find Arcanist Sonius, who gives the quest for you to determine your next class choice, you need to become a Summoner to progress to Necromancer, so be sure not to choose Wizard or Enchanter!
Sonius will have you run 3 errands, one that depicts the way of a Wizard, one of an Enchanter, and lastly Summoner, where you will take the floating elevator to the basement of the Academy and enter a room where you summon your first creature.
When you enter the chamber you will want to first read from the Spell Book sitting on a podium, then collect the ingredients it asks for from the 3 locations within the room, and finally walk over to the small patch of carpet in the corner. You will automatically place the items on the rug and a few seconds later a stone beast will appear, which you have to slay! You must do this alone, so you may want to wait until level 9 to complete this part. After you slay the creature, talk to Arcanist Sonius to complete the quest.
Now complete as many of the quests in your Journal as you can. When you’ve exhausted these – explore, hunt, and find more quests in the Commonlands, Wailing Caves, and Fallen Gates.
The subclass quest for Necromancer begins in North Freeport, inside the Academy of Arcane Science as well, when you’ve reached level 18, travel there and talk to Camtur Flograttle.
This gnome will give you a quest to find a strangely stitched zombie in the Commonlands. He spawns near Zharvons tower, which is very close to the Nektulos Gryphon station. Search between the triangular area between the tower, the gryphon station and the entrance to Nektulos Forest, this is his territory, although he does wander. There is rumor that you may have to slay some of the grouped lost souls to get him to spawn. Other Mage classes need this zombie as well, if you group with them, you all benefit and will get the update from slaying the stitched zombie.
After you get the quest update, return to Camtur Flograttle again for the final step to the quest.
Speaking to Camtur will complete the first part of the quest. When you hail him again he will ask you if you are ready to do the instanced portion. Say yes, and he will transport you to the top level of a tower, the zombie corpse you retrieved will be lying on the floor beside you your mission is to find an elixir somewhere within this tower. As you work your way downward through the tower, be careful of a skeleton hidden in the rafters, he is linked to another solo skeleton below and will try to surprise you! Examine the desk to find that the elixir was once there, but is gone! Keep working towards the bottom of the tower, killing the skeletons as you go. When you get to the bottom, you’ll find that the zombie you killed earlier is no longer dead! Kill him to get the elixir, then return to the top and click on the rock to exit the instance. Talk to Camtur again to complete the Necromancer quest. Now all you need is the experience, get to level 20 and you will finally be, a Necromancer!
